Children on the Cutie Cutie camp

Cutie Cutie Camp

Bethany Home regularly runs camps for our students, clients and trainees. Our regular camps are:

  • Cutie-Cutie Camp - for ages 14 and below.
  • HandiCamp - for ages 15 and above.
  • Camp for Severely Handicapped - caters especially for all ages with severe disabilities.
  • Group Home Family Camp - for our students who live in the group homes and their families.

Our camps are greatly anticipated and thoroughly enjoyed by all participants. The camps provide an opportunity for participants to integrate in the wider community and experience new things. They raise community awareness about how it can be to live with a disability and about the care and support which is required from families. Many people and organisations support our camps through giving their time as camp volunteers or by making donations.

Camp for Severely Handicapped

The aim of this annual camp is to provide time away from home in a camp like environment that is safe and suitable for our younger students. Bethany Home is adapted for three days each year to accommodate these students aged 14 years and below. The volunteer ratio for this camp is two volunteers for each child.

Handicapped Camp

The aim of this annual camp is to provide time away from home in a camp like environment that is safe and suitable for our more independent students aged over 14 years. The volunteer ratio for this camp is one to one.

Severely Handicapped Camp

The aim of this annual camp is to provide time away from home in a camp like environment that is safe and suitable for our more severely disabled students. The volunteer ratio for this camp we aim to have one student to three volunteers, as this is a more intensive caring situation for volunteers whereby the students are not to be left unsupervised at any time night or day.

Group Home Family Camp

Group Home Family Camp

This camp aims to bring together all the students living in our Group Homes and their families for a couple of days. It allows both the students to enjoy a camp like environment with their family and also their families to spend time with other people who have children with disabilities.
